Known for his pop art and graffiti strokes, Keith Haring’s work is the perfect canvas for designer Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia’s whimsical aesthetic. The designer, known for her signature personal style, also has a keen eye for art. Past collaborations have included Domingo Zapata, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Donald Robertson. See a pattern emerging?
For resort 2019, Bendet realised that the primary pops of colour she was drawn to, reminded her of Haring’s statement works. A capsule collection soon came together, featuring his trademark dancing figures and prints in patchwork collages. The pieces include a leather jacket, a reversible bomber, tees, ballgown skirts and accessories, which are available online.
“I have always been a fan of Keith Haring’s work—the colours and graphics,” says Bendet. “He was also one of the first artists to advance social causes, and I think at this time in our world, it’s especially important to support artists who have made a difference.”
